At Seed we see our Account Directors as the most important role to the business, our Account Directors are our leaders, they lead everything they are exposed to, they lead their team, their line managers and their clients, they set the pace and direction of their accounts.
A great leader will make for a great team, lead up and lead down. Create the environment for creativity to flourish with everything leading back to insight utilising the research methods at our disposal.
As part of this strong leadership role you will remain the owner and the driver of all accounts within your channel ensuring excellence in delivery, profitability and efficiencies.

All Account Directors assume junior management level responsibilities within an agency function, to manage and develop the process within this function to make the agency operate at a high level.

The Account Director Role

They possess excellent communication skills and are experienced in dealing with a range of relationships. They are excellent listeners and adopt a consultative and collaborative approach with their team, clients, and senior management to get to the best outcomes. They nurture and develop their team, identifying opportunities for them to achieve their objectives, they see their team's progression as a core objective of their own. They display role model qualities, displaying a high level of resilience and the ability to remain calm, they support business decisions and in turn handle difficult conversations where necessary. They bring forward ideas and initiatives, encouraging those around them to do the same
Our Account Directors have outstanding leadership and director qualities, we see these as an important part of the role. From winning and growing new and existing clients to ensuring all clients experience seamless management. Our Account Directors go above and beyond ensuring KPI’s are exceeded, resulting in ultimate client satisfaction. This is a fundamental part of the role that we expect our Account Directors to instil in their team, utilising the agency's process whilst doing so.
Our Account Directors oversee all strategic output, they are expected to have a very strong and well-informed strategic point of view. This requires acquiring a deep understanding of the client's business model. They are confident in presenting a compelling strategic argument to their clients.
Our Account Directors are genuinely enthusiastic, curious, and interested in all things creative, keeping up to date on what's best in class across the industry. This passion should translate into strong creative judgement, a respect for the idea and a dedication to making it work
Our Account Directors are responsible for the day-to-day financials of their team. They are capable of structuring project fees, overseeing cost estimates, managing, and tracking resource, reconciling cost estimates and are constantly aware of the overall profitability of their accounts (GP% and NP%).
They have an in-depth understanding of their client’s business and how to achieve their objectives, clients actively seek their advice, whilst identifying areas that can be actively converted into commercial opportunities for Seed. They are comfortable with negotiating and managing conflict effectively.
They own financial forecasting for their channel, ensuring we are forecasting accurately to enable sufficient and accurate resource management.
They are continuously growing and seeking new opportunities within their channel and across new business relationships.
They are ultimately responsible for their teams’ output, they have an overview of all operations and objectives across each account, ensuring results are exceed each time and learnings are taken forward and shared across the business
Our Account Directors are considered business critical and the ‘go-to’ for all clients. They represent Seed in a professional manner at all times, whilst embodying Seeds values at all times.
They understand their client’s business needs and understand the fundamentals of delivering a winning proposal, whilst confidently taking responsibility for all operational aspects and objectives. They are always steps ahead, by anticipating the client’s needs and potential hurdles with contingency plans at the ready.
Skills and Experience
- Analytical thinking
- The ability to pull trends from data
- Experiential & event management experience
- A passion for, and ambition to succeed in marketing
- An understanding of the cross channel marketing mix
- Previous experience managing clients and suppliers, providing best in class account handling, excellent project management and relationship building
- Experience leading & directing both new client business pitches & existing client responses
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Experience managing budgets, ensuring profitability and smooth delivery
- A natural gravitas and presence to make things happen
- Experience managing a team to deliver exceptional results
